Spring Vocab

  • PROBOSCIS: the nose of a mammal like an elephant.

  • PANTOMIME: dramatic entertainment.

  • PROCLIVITY: tendency to choose or do something regular.(leaning, bent)

  • CENTRIFUGE: typically to separate fluid of different.


  • ODIOUS: extremely unpleasant.

  • JARGON: special words or expressions that are used by a particular profession or group and are difficult for others to understand.

  • RAVENOUS: extremely hungry.

  • PARLOR: sitting room.

  • STAGNANT: having no current or flow and often having an unpleasant smell.

  • CACOPHONY: harsh, discordant mixture of sounds.

  • TAMPED: pack full of clay.

  • FLOURISHED: develop rapidly and successfully.

  • PLATEAU: an area of fairly level high ground


  • ROLLICK: Act or behave in a jovial and exuberant fashion.


  • ASYLUM: place of protection.
